1. Regularly check the integrity of photovoltaic cables and connectors
After long-term use of photovoltaic cables, the cable sheath is easily damaged and the connectors have poor contact. Regularly check whether the cable surface is cracked or damaged, and whether the connectors are loose or oxidized to ensure that the cables and connectors are intact to avoid potential failures.
2. Maintain cable insulation properties
If the cable insulation is damaged, there will be a risk of leakage and short circuit. The cable insulation should be kept intact and reinforced with insulating tape if necessary. At the same time, it is necessary to prevent dust and dirt from adhering to the cables and reducing the insulation performance.
3. Take measures to prevent rat bites
When photovoltaic cables are laid in the wild, rodents can easily bite through the insulation layer and cause short circuits. Rodent repellent should be applied to the surface of the cable, and regular inspections should be made for any damage caused by rat bites.
4. Strengthen anti-corrosion and moisture-proof measures
The environment of photovoltaic power stations is hot and humid, and cables are prone to moisture, mold, or corrosion. Priority should be given to cables made of corrosion-resistant materials, while keeping the cables dry to prevent long-term moisture exposure.
5. Avoid cable overheating
Cables will heat up when carrying current, so the cable carrying capacity should be strictly controlled. At the same time, pay attention to ventilation and heat dissipation to avoid overheating and aging of cables.
6. Provide lightning and grounding protection
The metal sheath of the photovoltaic cable must be properly grounded to prevent damage to the cable from lightning overvoltage. The grounding must be connected to the overall lightning protection system of the photovoltaic system.
7. Update cables regularly
The performance and insulation properties of old photovoltaic cables that have been used for a long time will decrease. Photovoltaic cables should be updated in a timely manner based on usage and operating data.
